PROJECT 2 | ANIMATED INFOGRAPHIC

For the animated video, I plan to animate with a lot of vibrancy and energy to reflect how Giocanda and Bartolo's energy in the Pasta Grannies video was eccentric.

IDEA EXPLORATION

In order to have a good flow of instructions, I went on YouTube for some simple animated recipe videos for some inspiration. Luckily enough, there was this one particular (refer to Fig. 1.0) animated video that stood out to me.

DEVELOPMENT

Making the animated video was relatively easier because I had gone through the pains of experimenting with the speed-graph panel in After Effects while making the final animation for the Final Project. I played around with vibrant colours to further highlight eccentricity and liveliness, used super speedy animations to make it concise and interesting, and I used Monsters Inc by Randy Newman because it fits with the whole aesthetics so well. All of the assets used are taken from the illustrations I've done in the previous project.

REFLECTIONS

Experience

This project was really fun to make. Since I've refined my After Effects skills doing the final project, finishing this project came in naturally. Working in the software was easier compared to earlier in the semester and I'm happy to say confidently that I am now fluent in After Effects.

Observation

The part that I enjoyed the most while doing this project was finishing it. As comical as that sounds, seeing the result of all that hard work come together into one singular piece was absolutely astounding.

Findings

I find that at the end of the project, I tend to enjoy working most when I don't set high expectations on myself and instead enjoy the process of experimenting, all the while discovering what I like and what I don't like.
